As always February was a slow month, and I added just 15 species for the year.
Arizona fared particularly badly as I added just one species, a Lincoln's Sparrow to my 2019 list. I added a total of 4 birds for Coconino, including two - Song Sparrow and Yellow-rumped Warbler - that I had seen in southern Arizona on my trip at the start of the year. But the highlight of the month was a new county bird, a Red-breasted Sapsucker in University Heights. I had seen this species in the state just once before, in Prescott; but this species is quite common around San Jose.
