Bald Eagle Survey
I met Eric at 8:20 on Saturday morning, January 9th and we carried out the Country Club and Walnut Canyon route in cold temperatures (7-31F, -14 to -1C). We had 3 feet of snow during the week and so it was not possible to walk into a couple of areas but otherwise we made the usual stops at Lakes Elaine and Humphreys, the double ponds, clubhouse, FACE and Walnut Canyon ponds. The only Bald Eagle was on a snag overlooking Walnut Canyon ponds, and a Cooper's Hawk was perched nearby. We did not see much when we headed out to Walnut Canyon.
